Meet Lemongrass at ASUG Oil, Gas & Energy Conference

ASUG, Dallas, Texas | September 13-15, 2023

Wouldn’t it be fantastic if there were a gathering of professionals from organizations in the oil, gas and energy industries focused on running SAP systems for their companies? A place to hear thought leaders and experts speak about topics of importance that impact their day-to-day business as well as their strategic future. An opportunity to network with like-minded individuals with similar interests and concerns to start discussions and share ideas?

The great news is there is such a gathering, and it is hosted by ASUG, the Americas’ SAP Users Group, the largest organization representing the SAP community in the U.S. It is called ASUG Best Practices: Oil, Gas and Energy and will be held between September 13-15, 2023, in Dallas, TX, at the Hyatt Regency Dallas.

What’s more, Lemongrass will also be there, and we’d love it if you could take a little time to meet with our SAP experts. Lemongrass has helped dozens of organizations within the oil, gas and energy industry, to name a few; Par Pacific, NextDecade, Jemena, Sarawak Energy, Yancoal and Energy Queensland to successfully reach their business objectives through advisory services, cloud migration services, managed services, and more.

Who should attend?

Leaders and professionals who administer and run the SAP estate in their organization, who work in IT, Accounting and Finance, Supply Chain Management, and Sourcing and Procurement, and may also manage Sustainability initiatives within their company.

What’s on the Agenda?

The 2+ days of the ASUG Oil, Gas & Energy conference will be packed with a variety of sessions and activities. There will be 35+ keynote and breakout sessions to choose from, as well as a “speed networking” event, a welcome reception on the first day, several networking breaks each day, and a BBQ lunch on the final day.

Some Topics and Sessions

Each year, the event focuses on the most important subjects that are affecting the industry. For example, Sustainability is a top concern and will be addressed from several different angles, including business processes, regulatory, cost-cutting, and profitability. There will be three different sessions focused on the critical topic of sustainability and how SAP solutions can help organizations meet their goals in this area.

Breakout sessions around sustainability include “Ask the Experts: Unlocking Sustainability Across the Entire Business Value Chain” which will be conducted by John Martin, SAP’s National Practice Lead in sustainability, and Alex Karim, Sustainability Principal from SAP. The pair will also conduct the session, SAP Sustainability Solutions, which will discuss SAP’s innovative solutions that specifically address sustainability for reporting, data analytics, and supply chain.

Other topics that the event agenda will focus on this year are Intelligent Asset Management, Renewable Energy, Hydrocarbon Management, and Digital Transformation and Profitability.

As ASUG phrases it, “Businesses in the industry today face unprecedented new challenges (and opportunities), from decarbonization to decentralization.” With the subject of Renewable Energy being top of mind for energy companies, the end of the first-day keynote session will be a Wrap Up and Energy Transition Panel, consisting of a combination of experts representing customers, SAP, and a professional services provider, who will provide their viewpoint on renewable energy. This diverse panel will examine the transition toward cleaner energy production and achieving carbon neutrality more quickly in the face of current and new regulations and the uneasiness of climate change and environmental impact.

Hear From Your Peers

CHEVRON
There will also be several customer case studies around several SAP solutions for attendees to hear about other organizations’ experiences, helpful hints, tips and tricks, and more. For example, in the first keynote of the last day, hear Chevron speak about their “Experiences and Lessons Learned from the First Digital Core Release and Implementation.” Only a few short months ago, Chevron went live with the first of its four releases of its SAP S/4HANA implementation. During this session, they will share what they learned from their digital implementation including the program scope and the strategies that will be incorporated into future releases.

PEMBINA
Another great customer success story session, “Driving Efficiencies and Business Outcomes with SAP Analytics at Pembina” highlights another effective SAP solution implementation, but in this case, using SAP BW/4HANA and SAP Analytics Cloud for data analytics. Prior to the implementation, company employees were not able to create custom reports they needed, as data was spread across different locations, departments and systems. This left users without live data, which hurt their decision-making ability. By implementing the new SAP solutions, they were able to consolidate data from finance, HR, plant maintenance, and supply chain in order to facilitate self-service reporting and actionable insights which led to more informed decisions.

Hope To See You There!
